Kelani River Flood-Protection Investment Supports Resilience in Colombo’s Commercial Areas
On 28 October, Japan signed a grant agreement worth JPY 2.179 billion, approximately LKR 4.539 billion, to improve pumping infrastructure in the Kelani River Basin. The project aims to reduce flood exposure and protect businesses, transport infrastructure and communities in the surrounding areas. Developers and property investors can explore site-risk assessment, geographic analysis and infrastructure planning, while HPC can support complex project modelling. The grant is for flood-protection infrastructure, not a property transaction. Contact HPC for a tailored quotation.
